Welcome to the Wordsworth Model Railway Blog.

Wordsworth is a loft based home layout built in 00 gauge, the layout has been designed purely for fun in mind & therefore I run what I like, when I like.

The layout is 3m x 3m square with a 1.5m square operators well in the center, control of the layout is DCC, the unit used is an ESU Ecos 50200 command station.

Bulk of the fleet is steam based on the LNER  / BR liveries of class A3 & A4 locomotives. The layout does have other classes & some other regions being run.

A small diesel fleet comprises of class 03, 08, 20, 27, 31, 37, 40, 55 & 66.

Here are a few pictures showing what's available here at Wordsworth.

Crazy Joe's paddock is one of the funny scenic things you'll spot on my layout.

Wordsworth is kept clean by an army of miniature people, here we see a window cleaner in action

The engine shed looks busy today, looks like some of the Gresley class A4's are at home.

Bulk of the buildings on Wordsworth are of card construction, the vast majority are home designed kits like this warehouse seen here next to the canal.

Here is a fine example of kits designed at home for Wordsworth, this then lead to a spin off for freely available card kits which can be downloaded.
